Speaker 1:

Do you have the courage, do you have the faith in whatever your dream is, to take those steps? Everybody who's ever been successful before you or in real time with you has done that. They've said fuck the status quo. When I was a freshman in high school a very long time ago, I lived out in the suburbs at a place called the Front Range, which is really nestled right up against the Rockies here in Colorado. At that time it seemed pretty far outside of the city of Denver. It seems much closer now that the city has grown so large. But in my freshman year we did a field trip called A Day in Denver. Now I was excited about this field trip because I got partnered with a girl that I had been fond of for that entire school year. This was toward the end of the school year in the springtime, and I just thought she was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen in my life at that time and I was so excited to be her partner. So we get close to the time when we're getting ready to go and we've got to have a plan together and we talk about the things that the teachers want to point out or find or discover about being in downtown Denver and I realized something my interpretation of what they are asking us for, they're asking us to do, was very different than hers. She wanted to consider what the teacher wanted, not just what the paper said, and then executed our own way. But she wanted to execute it specifically in the way the teacher wanted. And I engaged her a little bit and said, man, you know, fuck that, let's do this a different way, let's do this our own way. She didn't like that and she didn't like that at at all, and she made it very clear to me that that was not acceptable. And I can tell you in an instant she went from being something that I, a girl that I had been very, very fond of, to a girl that I didn't find was attractive at all. Coincidentally, the group next to us was the daughter of one of the largest strip clubs, a family that owned one of the largest strip clubs in Denver Long blonde hair, tall, really just like an early 90s rocker who I had always been a little bit intimidated by. I was aware of her. In the same time, the same moment, I hear her really verbalize my same attitude. She didn't give a shit what the teacher wanted. She wanted to go downtown, explore Denver and not be afraid. And in an instant she became so beautiful to me, just her attitude, her outlook, her being fearless, on wanting to find out and discover things her own way. Anyway, from that day forward, I recognized very clearly and that haunted me into college. Honestly, college I didn't finish Not just categorically rejecting the advice or the direction not advice, but the direction of others.

Speaker 1:

Right, get into a college course and they're like well, that technically answered the question, young Mr Fierstein, but it didn't do it our way. Like I get this incredible rebellion, this rejection of this idea that I have to do anything anybody else's way, and I've always been that way, and it sounds arrogant. I don't mean it to be arrogant, it's just really. As I've gotten older, I realized what a gift that is. Nobody doubts that other largely successful people, other just largely successful people, are innovators. Right, they do things their own way. And so I question all the time so why does anybody take direction from others? Why don't we do everything our own way? And that's evolved into this idea that God, in my opinion this is just my thought creates each one of us with a purpose in equal measure. He gives us the things we need before we're born to attain that purpose, discover it and to live in it. I don't blame that on any particular God. I don't. I'm not associated with a particular religion. I don't mean that politically correct, I mean I don't. I believe in my creator, my own way. I don't require direction in order to do that.

Speaker 1:

You pay a price living your life this way. On one hand, it's much easier to conform, do what you're told, be good little boys, good little girls. Follow the envy that we discover now on social media platforms, compare our lives to those people and always come up short. Somehow Somehow seems to be the norm, right? This guy has this car, that person has that thing, or they have this lifestyle. Or I made how many dollars by the time I'm 30? I'm so tired of hearing that I'm nauseated at this point, constantly building constructs around us to compare ourselves to. I bring this up because one of the things I value more and more as I get older and I have more and more of a life to reflect back on. I realize the times I made my own decisions, regardless of those around me, their thoughts, their input, their need to control, most importantly, their fears. I realize that those times I listened to what's right here inside of me were the times I made the very best decisions. And that's not revelation. We all know that. But it's so hard to live our lives that way and it's gotten worse.

Speaker 1:

This next generation coming up with cell phones and things from the time they were born, these, you know 20-something, 30-something-year-olds Again a construct. Look at what this person is doing. Look at what that person is doing. Do you have a Lamborghini at 22 years old? Do you have $100 million in your bank account by the time you're this old? Come on, those are ways of saying I have this and you don't. You should do it my way. You should conform to this direction, you should be under my control so that you can accomplish this outcome.

Speaker 1:

We all want to share the things we've done in life. That brings us reward, and the benevolent side of all people wants to promote that, wants to share it, and we should. But as individuals we can decide. If we want to really listen to that. Do we want to bend the need of fear and conform to what others have done before us? What happens when we do that? What happens when we take the direction of other people? Not advice. Advice is wonderful. Nostalgic advice is even more wonderful. Right Stories from our history and the wisdom of those that came before us has a huge value. But at the end of the day, we put that value into our hearts and we make a choice. We consider the advice, of course, but do we take the direction from others To what end? So that we can become like them? Is that the point of this envy for this next generation, slathered all over social media every waking moment of their lives? What's lost? What's lost is that voice inside of us.

Speaker 1:

Whether you blame that on God or intuition or the universe, I don't care. I personally think it comes from our creator. I think that voice is what guides us into our purpose. No matter which creator you believe in, it doesn't matter to me and I certainly have no authority in the subject. I do believe in God. I do believe we were created by a higher power and I believe that higher power is strictly and purely benevolent and that they, that higher power, instills purpose. That part of the journey of life is discovering not just what that purpose is, but the strength within ourselves to discover it. I say that because the world at large is so against it.

Speaker 1:

Do what you're told, follow the status quo, bow your head, bend your knee and accept your fate as drawn by other human beings. There's people in this world that need that, that enjoy that, and that's okay. This isn't about judging them. I'm speaking to those who reject that idea. I'm speaking to those that have a feeling, instilled by their gut, by God, whoever that there's something wrong with the construct. There's something wrong when somebody else is telling us to do something, to take our lives down a trajectory. I don't know how many people I've talked to whose mom and dad said you'll either be a lawyer, an engineer or a doctor, and anything less will devalue you as a human being Coming from a pit. What kind of fear drives that? I can tell you, the voice of benevolence, the voice of a creator or just the voice inside of ourselves, never says that. It never tells us bend to fear. It never tells us to join the crew, join the club, follow what the others are doing, because the outcome is inevitable. We end up like them.

Speaker 1:

To those who want to do better or have a different idea of what victory is in their life, what success is, money, anything whatever, doesn't matter, just accomplishment, contribution to others. Self-sacrifice might be your goal in life. Sacrifice things in your life for the betterment of others, because that's your contribution. It doesn't matter, I don't give a flying fuck if you drive a Honda Accord or you drive a Bugatti, it doesn't matter to me. What I want to connect with are the people out there who have that voice. They hear it and whenever they do anything of them, heed that calling. There's a sickness that overcomes them.

Speaker 1:

I want to let you know you don't have to do it. You don't have to bend the head bow to the way of others because they're afraid that, left to your own devices, you might not do things their way. They should be afraid of that. The truth is, they should honor the fact that you have the courage let's call it is the balls to do it your own way. That's the test of life. Do you have the courage, do you have the faith in whatever your dream is, to take those steps? Everybody who's ever been successful before you or in real time with you has done that. They've said fuck the status quo, forget what the other people are doing to secure a safe, dependable, predictable life and follow that voice, follow that intuition, that gut feeling, follow your purpose. Follow the pursuit of your purpose. We're all individuals. We all have an individual purpose. Do it your way.

Speaker 1:

You know I'm going to relate this to technology. That's what we do here, and I'm going to do that now to the younger people that are out there that know there's something wrong with their life's direction. I feel right here, right here, there's another way to do life. I invite you to not be afraid. I invite you to go down that rabbit hole, dig deep inside of you, all the way to the bottom, and look at that purpose right in the face. Even if you can't read it, even if you can't come up from that exercise and write down what that purpose is, know that it's there and then look around you. There are resources everywhere. Think of your life in pursuit of that purpose. Think of your life just trying to figure out what that purpose is. Who cares what social media tells you it should be or what that should look like? Look inside of you. It's there 100% of the time. It's there. The resources are all around you too, more so today than ever in history.

Speaker 1:

There's a lot of people established who are rejecting the idea that this is happening right now. Let them reject it. Let them be afraid of the world as it turns, as it turns into a world based on human ingenuity and the manifestation of artificial intelligence. Let them For those of us trying to discover purpose, for those of us looking maybe to mentors or people who came before us living in real time with us, but have been around that block a few times, let them, let you hear the things we could have done had this technology been available to us in our 20s. The trick is to their advice. The fundamentals don't change. It still comes down to courage. It still comes down to being willing to take that first step in pursuit of that purpose. Just realize that you've got more around you today than we've ever had before. There's less to be afraid of now than ever before in that pursuit.

Speaker 1:

If you have a calling and I know you do if you're the kind of person who's confused about what to do about it, if you're the kind of person out there who's got this nagging, longing for something more and you're not sure how to do it, you're not sure where to go, you're not sure how to get it, you may not be sure what the next step is, you're not ignorant. You're just about to embark on a journey to turn your life into the greatest adventure you could ever know. If you take the step, take comfort in realizing there's more around you, more opportunity than there ever has been in history. So why not? You heard me say it many times the homeless guy with a laptop here, right here in our city the city I now live in, by the way opens up a chat GBT and says how do I go from being homeless to a wealthy citizen in Denver? Writing his book is step three. Think about that. That's a homeless guy sitting outside a Starbucks.

Speaker 1:

What can you do with the advantages you have in your life to heed that calling? We're here to help. I'm here to help. Don't be afraid. Lean in to what's possible. Lean in to a life that you've always wanted. Each minute that passes is a minute lost. It's unrecoverable. You don't get a second chance. I don't, you don't, nobody does. From the richest guy in the world to the post guy in the world, we get 24 hours in a day and none of us know how many days we have.

Speaker 1:

Think about that. The more people that use this technology, the more people that utilize AI to track that purpose, to heed the calling of their creator, their gut feeling, the universe, whatever. The more benevolent that technology becomes, we're not subject to it, but rather we are created. We are born in this time to benefit from it, and the more we do, the more benevolent it becomes and the more benevolent that it stays All in the pursuit, really, of happiness. Whether you live in a country like the United States of America, where you have the right, the privilege to pursue happiness, or you live somewhere else where you don't, the world is against you. You were not put into this world without everything you need to champion your purpose and to find happiness. Just know that now it's closer and easier than it ever has been for any human who's ever walked the face of earth in history.

Speaker 1:
